Translation from original language as provided by authorFenghuang is a remote county in west Hunan province: The county was surrounded by mountains and built along rivers and mountains. (It was named "China's historical and cultural city" in 2001). Fenghuang county is mostly Hmong people (Miao mountains are still undeveloped, they have to walk 3-4km road to get to the towns, and then take a two hour drive to get to the county. Even now a lot of Hmong people can not understand Chinese), In their production and living,they used to express own feelings through singing, singing is the most important way to communication in their lives. Mmong people had have characters in history,but which has been lost. Nowadays,Miao only have language but no words, Miao songs hand down from mouth to mouth until today. With the development of society and advancement of technology, there are lots of audio/video equipments emerging, but the Miao area in Fenghuang is backward relatively. there are many ethnic characteristics arts which just like "treasure" have not yet been excavated. This paper intends to expand by four chapters, the first chapter is the summary of Fenghuang Hmong people's history, ecology and customs,discusses the form factors of Fenghuang's Miao folk songs: the music comes from life, Miao folk song is the product of Hmong people's working and living. In the old society,Hmong people was suffered the rule of oppression and exploitation by the dynasty,discriminated by alians and ongoing wars for a long time, so the Hmong people are often living a hard life, they survived tenaciously rely on the nature. Therefore, there always are a kind of Lesser and deep look when Hmong people sing Miao folk songs, they are always can't free stretch of the monastery, no matter what kind of mood the song is,the singer's face are always very calm¬¬--They are a multi-suffering nation. The second chapter discussed the style of Miao folk songs in Fenghuang: Miao folk songs formed in people's working and living, which is rich in content and form is very diverse. Since Hmong people have no words, the majority of Miao folk songs lyrics is not fixed, so the singers sang the Miao folk songs each time may be the same meanings, but the lyrics really were changed. Despite there are thousands of Miao folk songs, but they have the same tune, their melody and the rhythm are very clear, and their beat is very free, these are main features of Miao folk songs. The third Chapter investigated on the singing form and character of Miao folk songs in Fenghuang: Miao folk song is an very important tool of Hmong people to communicate each others,so it is an Indispensable part of the Hmong people's lives. Miao folk song is very Linguistic and it has various forms to concert. The fourth chapter of the paper expounded the inheritance and development of the Miao folk songs and presented my recommendations: Miao folk song is an important part of ethnic music which belong to Chinese traditional culture, To increase the excavation, protection and development of Miao folk song is the instrumental way to carry forward the fine traditional culture of China.what should we do is to Inheritance the of long history tradition of Miao culture, to integrate it with new knowledge and to develop it in the new society, so that our Miao folk songs could be sung to around the world. Fenghuang's Miao folk song is full of distinct ethnic music features. Through the research on the style and characteristics of Miao folk songs in Fenghuang,thus we could carry forward the characteristics and style of this art accurately, thereby make this simple concert for the country, the world and the future. Through the research on the style and characteristics of Miao folk songs in Fenghuang, in the hope of providing some theoretical reference for singsing the Miao folk songs in the future, and making some contribution to inherit the minority cultural heritage and to develop the culture of modern folk
