Abstract:
Christian missionaries have had considerable success among the Hmong in Vietnam. They have provided the Hmong with much desired literacy, fulfilling a tradition of a lost skill that enhances their status as an ethnic minority. At the same time, acceptance of Christianity continues to set them aside as a marginal people. Messianic movements have and will continue to arise among them.
