Abstract:
The decade-long utilization of reproductive health care services by immigrant Hmong women is analyzed as an extended case study for two purposes: to document historical, social and cultural forces that have shaped the fertility and reproductive behavior of Hmong immigrants in a large United States metropolitan area, and to determine how medical clinics and communities can better respond to the special health care needs of culturally diverse immigrant populations.
