Language:

Abstract:
An introduction to this volume discusses how authors of the journal's articles apply linguistics to language-minority communicative situations as a means of understanding subtleties & social patterns. Articles explore elements such as creativity, diversity, privilege, attitudes, & identification in Hmong, Lakhota, Spanish, Chicano English, & African-American English. It is claimed that the articles are a recommendation for researchers & language teachers about the necessity to explore the complexities of language. Reviews of books on similar topics are noted. 2 References. M. Gordon
