- Abstract:
- Austric is the name given to the hypothesis that the Austronesian and Austro-Asiatic language families are genetically related. Other versions of the hypothesis either include or exclude the Tai-Kadai language family of Southeast Asia and/or the Hmong-Mien language family. The term 'Macro-Austric' is sometimes applied to a phylum which includes the Hmong-Mien language family. © 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
