Abstract:
Forced displacements of people to foreign countries played a great part in destroying the old Hindu-like kingdom of Laos. The great migrations linked to the Indochina Wars and to the setup of the marxist-leninist regime have incited the State to try to strengthen a nation by mixing the ethnic groups. Nevertheless the ethnic holes in the ruling cultural territory and the Asian financial crisis threaten the national building.
