Abstract:
The article features the paj ntaub flowery clothing and textiles of the Hmong people which will be exhibited at the James J. Hill House gallery in St. Paul, Minnesota from April 10-November 29, 2015. It is noted that one of the largest Hmong communities in the U.S. is in the state, that they originated in southern China about 4,000 years ago, and supported the American troops during the Vietnam War. The motifs, the cultural significance, and symbolism of the paj ntaub are mentioned.
