Young Hmong American women & girls are in the process of transforming the landscape of gender & sexuality within their communities. This paper examines the intergenerational conflict over the transformation of gender & sexuality, & considers the impact of the conflict on students' schooling experiences. The intergenerational conflict between immigrant parents & their daughters is examined within the broader conflict between the Hmong culture & the dominant US culture.
