Abstract:
Focuses primarily on the Hmong mountain tribe that sided with the French against the Japanese and Viet Minh, with the Royal Lao government against the communist Pathet Lao, and with US forces against the North Vietnamese. Emphasis on military operations supported by US special forces and the CIA in the 1960s and 1970s, treatment of Hmong refugees in Southeast Asia and elsewhere, and attacks against remaining Hmong in Laos, including alleged use of chemical and biological weapons by communist forces.
