Abstract:
This article looks at the career of Performance Studies professor Dwight Conquergood. He was a pioneer in his field, & often crossed disciplinary boundaries -- including cultural, literary, folklore, urban, rhetorical, anthropological, theatric, & other studies. His multidisciplinary studies took him down many academic paths; from a medievalist studying Anglo Saxon boasts to researching Hmong gangs. Most importantly, however, Conquergood was known for his great humility & high ethical standards. References. C. Adcock
