Abstract:
Hmong villages in French Guyana are one of the most attractive destinations for both French visitors and Hmong tourists living in France or in the United States. This tourism, which is based on a return to Hmong tradition, has modified the representation that the Hmong community of Guyana had of itself and led it to promote an ethnical tourism. Beyond diverging analyses of ethnical tourism which often oppose visitors to autochtonous populations, exogen changes to minorities' cultural resistance, the example of the Hmong of Guyana provides an original new approach to the touristic interaction.
