Abstract:
Since 1977, several hundred Hmong refugees from Laos have been settled in French Guyana. At the initiative of other Hmong who live in France, a new discourse about Hmong identity has recently appeared. This article investigates the production of this discourse and the social transformations that such concepts are generating in this community. -English summary
