Abstract:
The author reflects on the results of the "Sociocultural Aspects of Clothing" course conducted at the Jane Addams School of Democracy, a collaborative learning community promoting social change, in the U.S. She says that it addressed issues that affect the conceptualization of textile and clothing, student-teacher roles, and American-Hmong citizen roles. Furthermore, she commends the course as a model for action-oriented teaching, research, and outreach that serves multiple communities. (Copyright applies to all Abstracts.)
